As part of creating a single clinical commissioning group for Kent and Medway we made a commitment to building on the patient and public engagement (PPE) developed by the original eight CCGs.
Our governing body lay-member for patient and public engagement (PPE) is Cathy Finnis. Cathy is being supported by seven colleagues who were the local CCG lay-members for PPE before the single CCG was established.
We have four priorities for developing our patient and public engagement framework:
With patient representatives and partners from the voluntary and community sector, the group will be chaired by Cathy Finnis, our lay member for PPE and will report directly to the governing body.
This will be a group of thousands of Kent and Medway residents who are interested in helping shape the future of health and care services. Through surveys, focus groups and other opportunities to get involved in our work, panel members will provide vital insights to make sure we keep patients’ needs and expectations at the heart of everything we do.
Using our virtual panel to identify people who are passionate about specific services or conditions and getting them involved in co-designing improvements in the areas they have in-depth experience of either as a patient, carer or relative.
